Overview
DeSoto’s recent Strategic Plan update serves as the blueprint for building a more vibrant, safer, educated, and healthier community. With equity as a common theme throughout the plan, seven (7) focus areas set forth the city’s priorities: building trust; image; thriving economy; learning environment; engaged and vibrant community; safe and healthy community; and beautiful city. Supporting DeSoto’s thriving economy is a combination of quality-of-life amenities and economic benefits that produce an environment conducive to personal fulfillment and business prosperity. More than 1,700 businesses have already chosen to call DeSoto home because of its superior transportation connections and proximity to downtown Dallas, which is a quick 20-minute drive away. Coupled with an existing 400-acre industrial complex, plentiful labor supply, low-cost land, and plentiful housing supply, DeSoto presents a very appealing environment for new, relocating and expanding businesses.
